Thursday Thanks
Today I am thankful for a surprise invitation that I received last night from Matt's girlfriend, Brooke, to join her, Matt and Gwenne on their trip to Long Beach, WA, this weekend. I am certain that Matt was more surprised than I was when Brooke spontaneously (and without consulting Matt) said, "Hey, Barb, what are you doing this weekend? You should come with us to the beach!"
What a delightfully charming invitation! I allowed Matt a chance to talk to Brooke about it privately, after which he said, "Mom, you are going to the beach with us!" So I shall pack my bag and head out on the highway, so thankful and appreciative of Brooke and Gwenne and all the love they bring not only to Matty, but to me!

Monday Musings
Thinking about life...about love...about work...and play...and growing...and growing up...and what it means to be happy...and how much my attitude affects all of my relationships and thoughts...how something can seem horrible one day because I am grouchy, but no big deal the next because I am content.
Thinking about little girls turning one..taking their first steps so tentatively and then with a blink of the eye, walking without hesitation. Thinking about babies learning to love and learning who loves them. Giving baby kisses...and getting a wet one from a babe and knowing it is the best thing in the world.
Thinking about society expectations...family expectations...living truly and authentically...and what to do if your sense of self doesn't match what everyone else expects...do we have to fit in little squares that someone else has defined? Thinking we (I) should be more accepting...loving...tolerant...supportive..especially if someone else has a perspective we have never experienced and cannot truly understand.
Just thinking...
